Dabei können Satellitenbilder durchaus eine sinnvolle Ergänzung sein und auch als Arbeitsmaterial dienen, da diese eine Fülle an Informationen enthalten. Gerade deshalb ist eine Hauptintention dieser Unterrichtsreihe, den Schülern aufzuzeigen, welche Möglichkeiten fernerkundliche Systeme gerade im Geographieunterricht bieten. Es soll aufgezeigt werden, dass man Satellitenbilder für unterschiedliche Ziele in unterschiedlichen Situationen einsetzen kann. Sie sollen in den hier aufgezeigten Stunden erleben, dass Satellitenbilder mehr als nur reines Anschauungsmaterial sind.
