Publisher: Lulu.com
ISBN: 9780244758868
Release Date: 2019-02-20
Genre:

Why is it that we are so drawn to and enticed by sacred geometry? They start with simple mathematical shapes, that combine to create elaborate illustrations of such beauty and elegance that we marvel at them. Beliefs, religious, spiritual and cultural, have been historically attached to them. The specific design and creation of each individual sacred geometric pattern is thought, among many cultures, not only to demonstrate an understanding of specific universal concepts, but to hold powers of mystical possibilities. The aim of this book is to provide a brief basic understanding of the history, creation and meanings of sacred geometry for those who are new to the subject, and to open an insight into the beliefs placed upon them with the hope that it will inspire the reader's interest and imagination and urge them towards further research. Enjoy learning how such simple shapes can evolve into inspiring and powerful patterns that weave through the fabric of our entire universe and reality.

Quadrivium

Author: Miranda Lundy
Publisher: Walker
ISBN: 0802778135
Release Date: 2010-10-26
Genre: Science

The quadrivium—the classical curriculum—comprises the four liberal arts of number, geometry, music, and cosmology. It was studied from antiquity to the Renaissance as a way of glimpsing the nature of reality. Geometry is number in space; music is number in time; and comology expresses number in space and time. Number, music, and geometry are metaphysical truths: life across the universe investigates them; they foreshadow the physical sciences. Quadrivium is the first volume to bring together these four subjects in many hundreds of years. Composed of six successful titles in the Wooden Books series—Sacred Geometry, Sacred Number, Harmonograph, The Elements of Music, Platonic & Archimedean Solids, and A Little Book of Coincidence—it makes ancient wisdom and its astonishing interconnectedness accessible to us today. Beautifully produced in six different colors of ink, Quadrivium will appeal to anyone interested in mathematics, music, astronomy, and how the universe works.

Near Death Experiences The Rest of the Story

Author: P.M.H. Atwater
Publisher: Hampton Roads Publishing
ISBN: 1612830846
Release Date: 2009-01-09
Genre: Body, Mind & Spirit

Real-life stories of out-of-body experiences, encountering a special light, greeters from the afterlife, life reviews, tunnels, and 360-degree vision--are all part of this intriguing look at near-death experiences (NDEs) by one of the world’s noted authorities, P.M.H. Atwater. Atwater shares her amazing findings, based on her sessions with more than 4,000 adults and children and over 40 years of research; a breathtaking culmination to a successful and controversial career. Atwater examines every aspect of the near-death phenomenon: from first-hand accounts of survivors experiencing flash forwards, waking up in morgues, and developing psychic abilities, to stunning cases of groups experiencing NDEs together. Atwater offers statistics from her findings to show the distinctive common patterns that people experience, as well as the common aftereffects and how it changed their lives. She also explores the physiological and spiritual changes that result from near-death experiences and looks at the connections between the NDE experience and what is often called “enlightenment." Near Death Experiences not only provides a glimpse of what lies beyond the veil of our temporal existence, but points to what--or who--we really are and what we are meant to be.

The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life Volume 2

Author: Drunvalo Melchizedek
Publisher: Light Technology Publishing
ISBN: 9781622335046
Release Date: 2012-04-27
Genre: Body, Mind & Spirit

The sacred Flower of Life pattern, the primary geometric generator of all physical form, is explored in even more depth in this volume, the second half of the famed Flower of Life workshop. The proportions of the human body, the nuances of human consciousness, the sizes and distances of the stars, planets and moons, even the creations of humankind, are all shown to reflect their origins in this beautiful and divine image. Through an intricate and detailed geometrical mapping, Drunvalo Melchizedek shows how the seemingly simple design of the Flower of Life contains the genesis of our entire third-dimensional existence. From the pyramids and mysteries of Egypt to the new race of Indigo children, Drunvalo presents the sacred geometries of the reality and the subtle energies that shape our world. We are led through a divinely inspired labyrinth of science, stories, logic, and coincidence on a path of remembering where we come from and the wonder and magic of who we are. Finally, for the first time in print, Drunvalo shares the instructions for the Mer-Ka-Ba meditation--step-by-step techniques for the re-creation of the energy field of the evolved human--which is the key to ascension and the next dimensional world. if done from love, this ancient process of breathing prana opens up for us a world of tantalizing possibility in this dimension, from protective powers to the healing of oneself, of others, and even of the planet. You may discover a memory or a fleeting reflection of yourself in the following topics: - The Unfolding of the Third Informational System: the circles and squares of human consciousness, Leonardo da Vinci's true understanding of the Flower of Life, and exploring the rooms of the great pyramid - Whispers From Our Ancient Heritage: the initiations of Egypt, the mysteries of resurrection, interdimensional conception, ancient mystery schools, Egyptian tantra, and sexual energy and the orgasm - Unveiling the Mer-Ka-Ba Meditation: chakras and the human energy system, energy fields around the body, the seventeen breaths of the Mer-Ka-Ba meditation, and the sacred geometry of the human lightbody.

Sacred Mathematics

Author: Hidetoshi Fukagawa
Publisher: Princeton University Press
ISBN: 069112745X
Release Date: 2008
Genre: Art

Between the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries Japan was totally isolated from the West by imperial decree. During that time, a unique brand of homegrown mathematics flourished, one that was completely uninfluenced by developments in Western mathematics. People from all walks of life--samurai, farmers, and merchants--inscribed a wide variety of geometry problems on wooden tablets called sangaku and hung them in Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines throughout Japan. Sacred Mathematics is the first book published in the West to fully examine this tantalizing--and incredibly beautiful--mathematical tradition. Fukagawa Hidetoshi and Tony Rothman present for the first time in English excerpts from the travel diary of a nineteenth-century Japanese mathematician, Yamaguchi Kanzan, who journeyed on foot throughout Japan to collect temple geometry problems. The authors set this fascinating travel narrative--and almost everything else that is known about temple geometry--within the broader cultural and historical context of the period. They explain the sacred and devotional aspects of sangaku, and reveal how Japanese folk mathematicians discovered many well-known theorems independently of mathematicians in the West--and in some cases much earlier. The book is generously illustrated with photographs of the tablets and stunning artwork of the period. Then there are the geometry problems themselves, nearly two hundred of them, fully illustrated and ranging from the utterly simple to the virtually impossible. Solutions for most are provided. A unique book in every respect, Sacred Mathematics demonstrates how mathematical thinking can vary by culture yet transcend cultural and geographic boundaries.
