"'I've never been afraid of big moments. I get butterflies. I get nervous and anxious, but I think those are all good signs that I'm ready for the moment'" - Stephen Curry. Stephen Curry was intent in showing the world that he was not just 'lucky' - he wanted to show that he deserved to be playing in the Finals. He deserved to be the MVP. All it took was just 12 more minutes, just 1 more quarter of basketball - with the Cleveland Cavalier fans booing him, the critics doubting him and the whole world watching him - he would show them just what he's capable of to succeed under pressure, a skill he has picked up and honed over all the years of his basketball life. After 12 minutes, the world would come to know of the legend of Stephen Curry - being one of the greatest shooter's to ever play the game of basketball. After 12 more minutes, Stephen Curry would be deemed a bonafide superstar. After 12 more minutes, Stephen Curry wouldn't be known as the guy who got 'lucky' to be MVP - he would go from being just another all-star, to being an NBA Champion and solidifying his status as an absolute force to be reckoned with in the league. Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry born to Dell and Sonya Curry, on the 14th of March, 1988 is an American professional player who plays for the Golden State warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is 6ft 3inches (1.91) tall, weighing 190lb (86kg). Steph Curry, a point guard for the Golden State Warriors, is considered as one of the greatest shooter in NBA history. It is worthy of note that Steph's Dad played in the NBA for 16 years, but having a parent that plays in the NBA does not necessarily guarantee one would become one at some point, as in the case with Marcus Jordan. Most scouts in college dismissed Curry because of his small stature; he had to work really hard to be selected for college basketball. Steph had a great high school career. However, most of the other great NBA players of today had an even better high school career. Most other NBA stars win state for their high school singlehandedly. Steph led his team to state, but never won a state championship. Steph still had a good enough high school career to go to a division one college. His father went to Virginia Tech, so naturally Steph wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and also go to Virginia Tech. However, Virginia Tech did not offer Steph a scholarship. Steph was offered scholarships to Davidson, VCU, and Winthrop. Steph chose to go to Davidson. Curry played college basketball for Davidson, where he was named twice southern conference player of the year, setting the all time scoring record for both Davidson and southern conference. During His sophomore years he set the single-season NCAA record for the three-pointer made. Curry went on to be drafted by the Golden State Warriors during the 2009 NBA Draft. However because of his recurring injuries, during his first three years he was compared to Grant Hill, whose large potential wasn't fully realized due to being constantly injured very early in his career. Like most of the things in Curry's life, he bounced back and improved tremendously setting records on his way to stardom. With his team mates, especially his close friend Klay Thompson "Splash Brother," the devote Christian and family man has led the Golden State Warriors to relevance once again. The Golden state Warriors success in the NBA is not unconnected to Steph Curry's unstoppable form. Steph has been able to lift the Golden States Warriors with his Characteristic 3 pointers time and time over again. His impact on the team cannot be over emphasized. Stephen Curry has won many honors and awards over his basketball career, but the one that stands out to him the most is winning the 2011 NBA Skills Challenge. This contest puts 6 different elite Point Guards against each other in a race with different passing, shooting, and cutting drills. Stephen Curry loved this award because it showed that he was one of the best Point Guards in the NBA. Wardell Stephen "Steph" Curry is definitely a phenomenon and a rare breed of athlete that combines family life and sports, a rare thing for athletes to do, perfectly.

NBA scouts nearly overlooked point guard Stephen Curry. Most NBA stars come from well-known schools, but not Stephen. He played for Davidson College in North Carolina, where he set the all-time scoring record for his university and his conference. In 2007-2008, he set the all-time college record for most three-point shots made in a season. Stephen was the seventh overall pick in the 2009 draft, chosen by the Golden State Warriors. He has racked up impressive stats ever since and led his team to the best record in the NBA midway through the 2014-2015 season.

INSTANT #1 BESTSELLER—ALL-ACCESS LOOK AT STEPH CURRY AND THE 2017 NBA CHAMPIONS GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS “A revolutionary player like Curry—whose three-point shooting altered basketball in a way similar to Babe Ruth changing baseball with the home run—deserves an in-the-moment book. And in the same way so many of Curry’s outlandish shots nestle softly into the net, so Thompson’s engaging and knowing biography successfully finds the mark.” —The Washington Post Golden is the first book to provide an all-access look at Steph Curry and the team that has fueled Dub Nation—by longtime Warriors beat reporter and Bay Area News Group sports columnist Marcus Thompson, the go-to expert on all things Golden State. A lifelong Warriors fan turned insider Thompson is uniquely qualified to tell the definitive story of a singular talent, pulling back the curtain on the crazy work ethic and on-court intensity that make Curry great—and the emphasis on family and faith that keeps him grounded. Combining the competitive grit and fun-loving spirit of his mother with the mild demeanor, easy charm, and sharp shooting of his father, former NBA player Dell Curry, Steph Curry derives support and strength from his close-knit kin and his commitment to Christianity. This hard-working, wholesome image however is both a blessing and curse in a League of big personalities. Thompson unravels the complicated underpinnings of the Steph Curry hate with a nuanced analysis of how class and complexion come into play when a child with an NBA pedigree becomes the face of a sport traditionally honed on inner-city black top and dominated by the less privileged. With unprecedented access, Thompson draws from exclusive interviews with Steph Curry, his family, his teammates, Coach Steve Kerr, and the Warriors owners to bring readers inside the locker room and courtside with this remarkable athlete and man.
In the last couple of years, Stephen Curry has reshaped the way basketball is played, been proclaimed the best shooter in basketball history (with the stats to back him up), morphed into the baby-faced face of the NBA, and has been lauded by many experts as the best player on the planet. In this fun, fact-filled biography, Playing with Purpose author Mike Yorkey shows how this likable, humble, and soft-spoken basketball player is living out his faith—using words only when necessary.
