In this important new book, David James offers an innovative interpretation of a key element of Hegel's political thought. James seeks to identify the basic aims of Hegel's philosophy of right through an analysis of his approach to subjectivity. He argues that the basic aim of Hegel's philosophy of right is to accommodate subjectivity within a framework of universally valid ethical norms and that an analysis of how Hegel attempts to do this provides a key to understanding his philosophy of right. This in turn makes possible a highly unified interpretation of the project that determines the shape and structure of his theory of modern ethical life. The ways in which Hegel uses the term subjectivity have never before been analysed in sufficient detail. James shows that Hegel's understanding of this term depends very much on the context in which he is using it and by analysing this carefully shows that this concept is essentially related to his theory of freedom. This fascinating book offers a unified interpretation of Hegel's philosophy of right and will make an important contribution to the study of Hegel's political thought.
The focus of Language Power: Dynamic Progression from Word to Message is on words and how they convey meaning and feeling. The microscopic focus on the word itself evolves into the logical organization of words into meaningful sentences, paragraphs, and document sections. The focus is on the somewhat divergent nonfiction elements of information and persuasion. From an examination of the principles of information and persuasion, the book evolves into an examination of specific applications of the informative and persuasive principles in business letter writing, the résumé, the cover letter, the business plan, and the grant proposal. Language Power gets the serious student of writing away from the glib advice about writing do’s and don’ts or templates that can simply be copied. This is a book about the process of thinking that goes into effective informative and persuasive writing. The book teaches the writing process. Although the discussion of process is illustrated with examples, the examples serve not as templates but to help teach the process. The book’s rationale is that solid academics will ultimately outperform the mundane. After examining how words convey meaning, words are next examined as collective structures to convey information or persuasion. Finally, language structures are analyzed in specific forms of business writing.
The motive of our ministry is to teach people an overview of the whole Bible in a way that they will never forget it. In the book, “Only His Sheep Will Raise Their Heads”, we examine prophecies of the End Times and give an overview of the Bible in regards to the church age that we are a part of today. the rapture of the church and the ultimate return of the Lord. “From the fig tree, learn its lesson: as soon as its young shoots become soft and tender and it puts out its leaves, you know of a surety that summer is near.” (Matthew 24:32) If this was important for the disciples, it is even more important for us! We are 2000 years closer than they were. We know from the fig tree that He is giving a spiritual analogy. Who is the fig tree in prophecy? Israel! Israel is the fig tree in the Word of God. What Jesus is bringing out here is, if you want to know prophecy, don’t look at the United States, England, Europe, etc... Look at the hub of prophecy, Israel! Those other nations are important in prophecy but the most important today, is the fig tree in the nation of Israel. We have seen the return of the Jews to their homeland. We know by the Word of God that Jesus is coming soon. How soon? We are not to know. Many years back, and not so many years back, during all of the wars that were going on people thought it was the tribulation and Israel wasn’t even mentioned yet. They were looking at the wars rather than the fig tree. We can look at the fig tree today. It’s doing fine! In fact the leaves are all over it!

The need for this book arose from my teaching, engineering, and - search experience in the non-power aspects of nuclear technology. The lack of a comprehensive textbook in industrial applications of radiation frustrated my students, who had to resort to a multitude of textbooks and research publications to familiarize themselves with the fundam- tal and practical aspects of radiation technology. As an engineer, I had to acquire the design aspects of radiation devices by trial-and-error, and often by accidental reading of a precious publication. As a researcher and a supervisor of graduate students, I found that the needed literature was either hard to find, or too scattered and diverse. More than once, I discovered that what appeared to be an exciting new idea was an old concept that was tried a few decades earlier during the golden era of “Atom for Peace”. I am hoping, therefore, that this book will serve as a single comprehensive reference source in a growing field that I expect will continue to expand. This book is directed to both neophytes and experts, and is written to combine the old and the new, the basic and the advanced, the simple and the complex. It is anticipated that this book will be of help in - viving older concepts, improving and expanding existing techniques and promoting the development of new ones.
